Connecting to Dropbox
Log into the system and then go to the URL https://dropbox.auctionmanagementsystem.com/ which will show the following:
Select the blue “Connect” button and you will be taken to Dropbox to verify your account and enable the integration. Once confirmed you will return back to the screen but your Dropbox details will be showing
Dropbox will have created a special application folder called: “Dropbox / Apps / AMS Image Import” (which we can see from the auction system) for you to drop your images for uploading:
Uploading Images
Drag and drop images to upload them using the naming conventions below.
Loading By Item Number
You can drop image files into the folder named using the following format:
Contract-Item number = used to identify the stock item which must be ready / booked / scheduled
Optional space or full stop followed by any unique identifier = used to differentiate multiple images for the same item
Examples
YEO010-0001.jpg | contract YEO010, item 0001 |
YEO010-0001 A.jpg | contract YEO010, item 0001, space then A for additional image |
YEO010-0001.B.jpg | contract YEO010, item 0001, full stop then B for additional image |
YEO010-0001 Side View.jpg | contract YEO010, item 0001, space then description for additional image |
Note: You cannot upload an image with the same filename as one that has already been imported for that item
Loading By Lot Number
You can create a subfolder in Dropbox using the sale number as the folder name e.g. 4AAJ13N
Now you can drop image files into this folder that are named using either the contract-item number (must be booked / scheduled in that sale) or the lot number (must be scheduled in that sale)
Examples
1.jpg | lot 0001 |
0001.jpg | lot 0001 |
235A Side View.jpg | lot 235A which is an A lot, space then description for additional image |
YEO010-0001.jpg | contract YEO010, item 0001 |
YEO010-0001 A.jpg | contract YEO010, item 0001, space then A for additional image |
YEO010-0001.B.jpg | contract YEO010, item 0001, full stop then B for additional image |
Featured Image
When importing via Dropbox the image with the first file name when sorted alphabetically will be used as the feature image regardless of the order uploaded (it will change it if already using an earlier image)
Cleaning Up
Once the image has been successfully uploaded the file will be deleted from Dropbox, if not deleted then there was a problem uploading it so check it’s a valid item or lot reference number and not a duplicate filename.
Note: The system will not automatically create or delete sale folders.
